The Labor Party's ...

Just Healthcare Rally ...

... Action Program!

As a mass membership organization, we are building a political party by and for working people, capable of winning power and governing. Toward this end 1400 delegates, representing hundreds of thousands of organized workers at the Labor Party’s First Constitutional Convention, resolved to challenge corporate domination of our lives.

We resolved:

1. To run Labor Party candidates in ways that will build the party and enhance the interests of working people.

2. To double our membership each year through aggressive recruitment efforts by each and every Labor Party member.

3. To build local organizing committees that are easy to join, that bring the Party’s positions to the vast majority of people who are alienated from political life, and that encourage them to take part in our campaigns.

4. To build national campaigns:

28th Amendment Campaign to advance our solution to economic insecurity — a constitutionally guaranteed right to a job at a living wage.

Just Health Care to fight for a national health program to provide everyone with guaranteed quality care.

Protect Social Security to strengthen the best social program ever developed for working people and to oppose any and all forms of privatization or reduction in benefits.

Fair Trade Campaign to oppose all NAFTA-like agreements and to support penalties against corporations as well as countries that violate international labor and environmental standards.

A Bill of Rights in the Workplace to fight for the right of all workers to freely associate, speak freely on the job, form unions, and engage in collective bargaining.

Our Labor Party understands that our struggle for democracy pits us against a corporate elite that will fight hard to retain its power and privileges. This is the struggle of our generation. The future of our children and their children hangs in the balance. It is a struggle we cannot afford to lose.

The Bosses
have Two Parties.
We’re Building
One of Our Own.
