Does this page look funny?
For some of you, reading this page might be less than fun...gray background, boring layout, all the font sizes appear to be the same, etc. Here is what the page should like if your using the latest web browser:
The headline, "Does this page look funny?" should be in large green print and center justified to the middle of the page. The text should also be in green and be justified edge-to-edge with an approx. 3/4 inch margin on both sides and the background to this page should be in a very light, almost yellow-white color. The 'sub-heads' below, "HTML" and "What to do?" should be in bright blue and running along the edge of the window with only a small margin showing.
If you don't view the page as described above the reason is that you are using an older web browser. In order to fully appreciate the appearance of this page you must upgrade to the latest version of the Internet Explorer, version 4.0 or newer or Netscape Communicator, version 4.0 or better.
HTML?
These browsers represent the latest in World Wide Web technology and they allow the user to take advantage of the underlying 'code' that each of these pages are written in. This code is called HTML or Hyper Text Markup Language. It allows you to read this page in a format like that of a magazine or book, with paragraphs, bold face, etc.
What to do?
The Labor Party Press On-Line will now employ the latest additions to HTML and other enhancements that take advantage of the latest browsers. We recommend you contact your Internet Service Provider to find out how to acquire the later versions of the browser you are now using.
